Amali was designed by Caleb Mulvena, principal of Mapos LLC. While at Peter Marino and Associates, Caleb was the lead designer for the Louis Vuitton Flagship stores in New York & Paris and the Zegna Flagship Store in Paris. Mapos LLC designed the Green Depot on the Bowery (and recently the FRESH store in Union Square) which was the first LEED Platinum Certified retail space in New York.

In keeping with Amali’s and Mapos’ philosophy, almost all the materials inside Amali are repurposed from New York City buildings (including our own) and practically every item was crafted by carpenters, steelworkers and plasterers who live and work in New York City.

Some of them serve food at our restaurant.
